E’ stata rilasciata la prima release di sviluppo di Rhythmbox, la 0.11, che finalmene andrà a risolvere i problemi di occupazione di risorse per cui molti utenti si sono lamentati.Anche l’interfaccia dell’applicazione ha visto un restyling rendendola più omogenea con il resto dei programmi di Gnome grazie all’uso dello stile Tango.
Per ora l’audio player, vista la natura della release, è scaricabile solo come sorgente e bisognerà aspettare ancora qualche mese per poterlo vedere integrato (e con ulteriori migliorie) nelle nostre distro preferite.

rcconf is a handy Debian utility for configuring which services get started up at boot-time. It’s really a front-end for the update-rc.d command.
See: apt-cache show rcconf
I found it immediately useful for shutting off xdm so my system would boot to the command line rather than giving me an X-based GUI login.
OPTIONS
–help Print out a usage message.
–dialog Use dialog command to display menu
–whiptail Use whiptail command to display menu
–notermcheck Do not set window size by terminal property.
–now
For each service that had the links changed, call the correspond‐
ing /etc/init.d/service-name script using invoke-rc.d, so the
package starts or stops immediately. If you do not use this
option, the changes will only take effect the next time you reboot
(or change runlevel).
–verbose Output verbose messages.
