E’ stata rilasciata oggi la versione stabile di Frugalware 0.8 detta Kalgan.
Le novità che porta questa versione, dalla precedente sono:

-Up to date base system: Linux kernel 2.6.24.3, Glibc 2.7 and GCC 4.2.3
-Up to date desktop packages: KDE 3.5.9, GNOME 2.20, XFCE 4.4.2, OpenOffice.org 2.4rc2 (ooo-build 2.4.0) and Firefox 2.0.0.12
-Setup: WPA support, new supported language: Czech.
-New graphical tool: FUN (update notifier).
-4068 changes, including 251 new packages, 1729 updated packages and 416 closed tasks.

Frugalware 0.8rc2 febbraio 18, 2008

Il team di sviluppo di Frugalware ha rilasciato la seconda ed ultima release candidate alla versione stabile 0.8 ‘Kalgan’.
In questa versione abbiamo:
– corretti numerosi bug, che renderebbero il sistema al momento, più veloce del 30%.
– aggiornato il kernel alla versione Linux 2.6.24
– aggiornato Perl alla versione 5.10.0
– aggiornato il compilatore GCC alla versione 4.2.3
& altri 150 pacchetti aggiornati…
Inoltre sono stati inseriti più di 25 nuovi pacchetti.

Frugalware 0.7 ottobre 20, 2007

E’ stata rilasciata la nuova versione di Frugalware, nome in codice: SayShell. Con questa release, il supporto alla versione precedente 0.6 (Terminus) è terminato.
Ecco le novità introdotte:
-Up to date base system: Linux kernel 2.6.22.9, Glibc 2.6.1 and GCC 4.2.1
-Up to date desktop packages: KDE 3.5.7, GNOME 2.20, XFCE 4.4.1, OpenOffice 2.3.0 and Firefox 2.0.0.7
-A LiveCD called FwLive is now available for this release.
-Setup: language-specific defaults (keymap, timezone, default mirror), the installation is now logged.
-Supported new languages: Romanian, Swedish, Italian and Danish.
-New graphical tools: Gfpm (package manager) and Gnetconfig (network configurator).
-Documentation: The Frugalware User Manual is now more than 100 pages: tutorials, tips and tricks.

Frugalware 0.7pre1 ‘Sayshell’ Maggio 24, 2007

Miklós Vajna has announced the first pre-release of Frugalware Linux 0.7, code name “Sayshell”: “The Frugalware Developer Team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Frugalware 0.7pre1, the first technical preview release of the upcoming 0.7 stable release. A short and list of changes since 0.6: the package manager (pacman-g2) now supports checking the integrity of your database; a live CD called FwLive is now available; a new web interface has been added to help translating Frugalware; support for X.Org 6.x has been dropped; new Romanian and Swedish translations; package updates – Linux kernel 2.6.21, GCC 4.2.0, glibc 2.6, Pidgin replaced Gaim, OpenOffice.org 2.2 with updated localizations and dictionaries….” The release announcement. HOWTO – Comandi Pacman marzo 22, 2007

-A, –add
Aggiunge un pacchetto al sistema. Il pacchetto sarà scompattato nel filesystem e il database di pacman aggiornato.

-F, –freshen
Questa opzione è simile a –upgrade tranne che, a differenza di –upgrade, aggiornerà solamente i pacchetti che sono già installati nel sistema.

-Q, –query
Interroga il database dei pacchetti. Questa operazione ti permette di vedere i pacchetti installati e i loro files, così come le meta-info di ogni pacchetto (dipendenze, conflitti, data di installazione, data di compilazione, dimensione). Questa opzione può essere utilizzata con il database locale oppure con un singolo pacchetto .tar.gz. Confronta la sezione Opzioni di Query qui sotto.
