E’ stata rilasciata l’ottava versione candidata a diventare ufficiale. Torvalds ha promesso che questa sarà l’ultima prima del rilascio ufficiale del kernel 2.6.24.
Linus ha inoltre spiegato il perchè ha rilasciato un altra rc: “that said, the changes here really aren’t that big, and the shortlog is fairly boring. So I’m pretty sure this is the last -rc, and the final 2.6.24 will probably be out next weekend or so. But in the meantime, let’s give this a final shakedown, and see if we can fix any last regressions still.”
